Dial stores everything you log — clubs, shots, rounds, courses, your name and handedness — only on your device. We don't have a server. We don't collect, transmit, or sell any of your data. Ever.
What data Dial stores
When you use Dial, the app stores the following information locally on your device, in a private database that only Dial can access:
- Your first name and handedness, entered during onboarding
- Your bag — clubs you've added, with optional brand, model, and loft
- Shots you log — club used, yardage, result, direction, surface
- Courses you save — name, location, par, hole count
- Rounds you play — scores per hole, putts, shot history
What Dial does NOT do
- No account creation. No email, no password, no sign-in.
- No analytics. We don't track what you tap or how long you spend in the app.
- No advertising. No third-party SDKs that collect data.
- No cloud sync. Your data does not leave your phone.
- No location tracking. Dial does not request or use your GPS location.
- No data sharing with third parties. There are no third parties.
Your control over your data
Because your data lives on your device:
- You own it. It's physically on your phone.
- You can delete it at any time. Settings → Reset all data. Or delete the Dial app, which removes everything.
- It does not persist beyond your device. If you lose your phone or uninstall Dial, your data is gone. There is no backup unless you create one yourself.
Children
Dial is intended for adult and teen golfers. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13 because we do not collect data from anyone.
Crash reports and diagnostics
If your phone sends anonymous crash reports to Apple (a system-level setting you control in iOS Settings), Apple may share aggregated crash information with us. This data contains no personal information and is used only to fix bugs.
Changes to this policy
If we ever add features that change this (such as optional cloud sync), we will update this policy and notify you within the app before any data leaves your device.
