Frequently Asked Questions

Is Anchor a replacement for therapy?

No. Anchor is a personal support tool and is not a replacement for professional medical or psychological care. If emetophobia is significantly affecting your daily life, we encourage you to reach out to a qualified mental health professional who specialises in CBT and anxiety disorders.

My journal entries disappeared. What happened?

Journal entries are stored locally on your device. If you delete the app and reinstall it, your entries will be lost. We recommend noting important entries elsewhere if you need to keep them long-term.

The voice guidance isn't working. How do I fix it?

Make sure your iPhone is not on silent mode. You can also toggle voice guidance off and back on in Settings. If the issue persists, try closing and reopening the app.

I'm not receiving my daily notifications. What should I check?

Go to your iPhone Settings โ†’ Notifications โ†’ Anchor and make sure notifications are allowed. Inside the app, go to Settings and make sure Daily Notification is toggled on and a time is selected.

Is my data private?

Yes. All your data including journal entries and settings are stored locally on your device only. Anchor does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers.

Can I use Anchor for general anxiety, not just emetophobia?

Absolutely. While Anchor is designed with emetophobia in mind, all of its tools โ€” breathing exercises, grounding, journaling, and coping statements โ€” are effective for general anxiety as well.
